Why Scouts is brilliant!

You get to go camping!
Even if you do need a huge bag for your camp kit, half of it is only your sleeping bag and roll mat!
And it's worth it for the fun activities and camp fires!
And on survival camps you can sleep in hammocks.
You get lots of badges for the things the programme are base around.
You can go on hike up mountains, and sometimes do activities on these said hikes, for example in this image I think we were learning morse code.
You can also learn new activities that you like, for example I did warhammer with scouts for my Model Maker badge, and now I really enjoy painting and building Minitures.
You get to learn really cool things like this.
There are more serious elements to Scouts such as Remembrance Parade, but the serious is always balanced out by the fun. For example, on Remembrance Parade we camp in the Scout hut on the saturday night and have chip shop chips for dinner, then we do the parade on sunday.
Sometimes there will be activities on the weekend other than camps, for Cubs and Scouts these generally include Scubtrex (A hike for cubs and scouts with activities), or just for Scouts Gwent Treck (an expedition where you hike on day 1, camp, then hike again on day 2). For younger sections there are things like going on a watersports day at LLandegfedd Reservoir.
We're split into groups called Patrols. In my troop, there's six patrols each named after animals: Wolfs, Stags, Falcons, Foxes, Ravens, and Hawks. Older members are given roles with more responsibility, called Patrol Leaders who lead there patrols.
